For today’s episode, I have been joined by the one and only – Bobby Castro – a self-made entrepreneur, investor, and speaker! Bobby took a 9th-grade education and a very small investment and turned it into Bankers Healthcare Group which is now worth multiple hundreds of millions of dollars. You may even recognize Bobby’s name from being the Ernst And Young Entrepreneur Of The Year 2012 or his company being on the Inc. 500/5000 list 13 TIMES! In 2001, Bobby founded Bankers Healthcare Group, the finance company that focused on healthcare professionals. Under his expertise, Bankers Healthcare Group was named the fifth fastest-growing business in 2005. Bobby sold his stake in 2019 and started a private investment company – ORTSAC Capital Group. Bobby’s career has received wide coverage as he is continuously recognized as a transformative entrepreneur in high-tier news outlets and magazines including Forbes, Fortune, and Wall Street Journal. But, where did it all begin? Bobby was born in the Bronx, New York, and raised in Miami, Florida. His mother worked as a waitress to support her family. With an investment of $25,000, Bobby and his mother moved to Florida to start a new venture. Bobby’s journey to success started out humbly – RTC janitorial cleaning that he started after he dropped out of school in the 9th grade. Since then, Bobby worked several jobs, as a valet parking boy, busboy, cleaning jobs, delivery jobs, and others to make ends meet and learn the ropes of the hospitality industry. Right from his childhood, Bobby knew the importance of the fundamentals of a positive working environment and honing his people skills. Bobby knows that above all, the key to scaling a business is leadership. As the leader of his company for more than 18 years, Bobby instilled in his team a positive mental attitude (PMA). He was responsible for creating a workplace environment and culture that inspired top-level performance and unheard of revenue returns – and he still does! Fast forward to now, Bobby is venturing into a new chapter with his investment company so that he can work with business owners and entrepreneurs looking to create success as he has done.
