Today’s interview for the Millionaire Secrets podcast is with Ron Douglas, a bestselling author in the cooking niche. Ron has sold over 1.5 million cookbook copies in total – including 800,000 of his first book – America’s Most Wanted Recipes. It was a pleasure to have Ron on the show. Ron is old school – starting off his online entrepreneurial journey back in 2001. At the time, he was working a full-time corporate job at JPMorgan in NYC.
From a mainstream perspective… Ron was living the dream. He’d landed a top job in an industry that could make him very wealthy indeed. But he was planning his exit from day one. He’d always dreamt of being an entrepreneur. Every evening and every weekend, he was at his computer trying to build an online income. But not just any online income. Ron wanted to build something around his passion – cooking. Now, there is a constant debate in the entrepreneurial sphere as to whether you should follow your passion or not in business. Well, Ron did. And he did very well from it indeed. It wasn’t long before he’d replaced his 9-5 income with his online income. His first book: America’s Most Wanted Recipes has since sold 800,000 copies. Collectively, his books have sold over 1.5 million copies. But… There’s more to Ron’s success than just book sales. In this incredibly interesting interview, we learn how Ron built an entire community around his love for cooking. He was a pioneer in the skills of Google Adwords, email marketing, and membership forums. The best thing about all of this? Ron doesn’t even rate himself as a good cook. He learned how to become great at marketing good cooking. And that’s what made him a multi-millionaire.
